Company Expands Leadership Team and Aligns Organization for Future Growth
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 20, 2016) – San Antonio-based affordable housing nonprofit organization, Prospera Housing Community Services (Prospera HCS), announced the appointment of Shemeka Woodson as Director of Resident Services. Ms. Woodson will be responsible for the development, guidance, and oversight of resident services and community learning center programs for the residents of Prospera HCS affordable housing communities. This decision continues the organization’s focus on Resident success, and the measurement of positive impact on the lives Prospera serves.
For decades Prospera has made a significant mark in improving lives with excellent resident services programs. Our services team is structured around “building communities and helping our residents thrive and succeed. We know how powerful resident services are. Ms. Shemeka was once in our field team, and now she will grow and maintain our excellent service‑enriched organization to continue to strengthen Prospera’s position as an industry leader in supportive affordable housing,” said Gil Piette, Executive Director of Prospera HCS.
Brenda Garza, who is now taking on the role of Director of Fund Development at Prospera HCS, stated, “I believe the residents and passionate resident services staff are vital to the success of this organization, and I am proud that Shemeka is taking on this role.” The transition of roles will be effective October 24, 2016.
Ms. Woodson is a native of the metropolitan Houston area. She has helped to develop and oversee resident services and programs for over three years; first as a Services Manager, then Regional Services Manager, and finally Assistant Director of Resident Services for Prospera Housing Community Services. Ms. Woodson’s background on sociological perspectives along with innovative, analytic skills has made her a great addition to the Executive team. She is certified as a Professional Service Coordinator, holds a BA in Sociology from St. Mary’s University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
