Affordable Housing Community Opens This Month on Corpus Christi’s Southside
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (January 22, 2020) – TG 110, Inc. and its development partner Prospera Housing Community Services are making a significant impact on the affordable housing crunch by building apartment complexes across Corpus Christi. In an ongoing effort to expand affordable housing community options in the city, Village at Henderson Apartments, located at 5502 Henderson near the intersection of Lipes and Staples, will have a ribbon cutting and grand opening this month.
Village at Henderson Apartments is a multifamily housing community with 88 apartment homes. Project funding for Villages at Henderson Apartments was provided through Housing Tax Credits administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HOME funding administered by the City of Corpus Christi and HUD FHA financing and tax credit equity from Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
TG 110, Inc. and Prospera HCS have developed additional communities throughout Corpus Christi including Woodland Creek Apartments, Palms at Leopard Apartments, Lexington Manor Apartments, Glenoak Apartments, Calallen Apartments, Samuel Place Apartments, and Casa de Mañana Apartments, which began reconstruction earlier this month. Village at Henderson offers one, two and three-bedroom units with energy efficient appliances and modern amenities. This new development project benefits the city’s growing southside area and provide greater affordable housing options.
Gil Piette, Executive Director of Prospera Housing Community Services, says about the grand opening and ribbon cutting, “Prospera has a long history of creating and caring for Corpus Christi communities that residents can call “home.” The Village at Henderson grand opening marks Prospera’s continued commitment to providing affordable housing communities and support services to even more residents of Corpus Christi. We also want to thank the City of Corpus Christi for its support of high-quality residential communities to meet the needs of the greater Corpus Christi community.”
Modern, on-site amenities will include a large community clubhouse with a business center and computer lab equipped with high speed internet and wi-fi, a beautiful swimming pool with a cabana and playground, barbeque area with picnic tables, a fitness center, and an on-site services office where residents can seek supportive community services to enhance their daily lives. A limited access fence will also be installed with vehicular and pedestrian controlled access gates.
