During the first week of October, Prospera celebrated in community-wide National Night Out events at our properties across South Texas. The goal of National Night Out is to get residents out of their apartments/homes and meet their neighbors. Prospera also feels it’s important for our residents to learn about community agencies and potential resources that may assist them with their current or future needs. Last year, over 2300 residents and 83 community agencies participated. As we continue to calculate the final numbers coming in, we know those numbers increased this year at our events. Community agencies participating range from local nonprofits like food banks and YMCA, local fire and police departments, local churches, local medical agencies, local branches of financial institutions, to District Councilmembers. Carmen Hancock, Vice President of Resident Services states, “National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community; providing an tremendous opportunity to bring first responders and neighbors together under positive circumstances. National Night Out encourages neighbors and neighborhoods to overcome the barriers that often isolate us from one another and to rediscover a sense of community. Improving lives, building communities!”
Thank you to all the businesses and agencies who contributed or participated in our National Night Out events.
